Implantology is the area of Dentistry that includes all procedures related to the replacement of missing teeth with dental implants and respective implant prostheses.

Implantology is indicated for the replacement of either single teeth or the entire dentition. Patients who have suffered for several years with gum disease, with exposed roots, spaces between the teeth and teeth to "shake", can, through implants, regain the comfort of a natural dentition.
Implantology has, among others, the following advantages:
- Maintenance of the bone structure and support of the tissues of the face (lips and cheeks), ceasing to have that sunken appearance of the face when we lose our teeth.
- Restoration of comfortable chewing and very similar to that of a natural dentition. Implant prostheses are fixed, no longer having the typical problems of removable prostheses (lack of retention, misfit in the mouth, limited chewing, etc).
- Preservation of natural teeth without the need for wear to place dental bridges. The implants are placed in the free space and dental prostheses are placed over the implants.
